Volunteers are essential to the Youth Adventure Trust and we are always looking to recruit new and enthusiastic volunteers willing to support our work. Our volunteers ensure we make a lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
Volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, are all ages and offer varying levels of experience. Some have previously worked with young people whilst others enjoy adventure and the great outdoors. All however are enthusiastic, positive role models and share a commitment to nurturing young people to reach their true potential.
Volunteering can be challenging at times, but people are often surprised by just how much they benefit from the experience.
For our Programme Volunteers there is a real sense of achievement in seeing a group of young people develop over the camp and pride in knowing that they have given them a worthwhile experience.
For our Challenge Events Volunteers there is the opportunity to spend time in beautiful locations across the UK, whilst helping to support those who are pushing their limits to fundraise for the charity.
Volunteering is an excellent way to develop skills and experience. It’s a chance to spend time outdoors and to participate in a range of activities. It’s incredibly fulfilling and will be heaps of fun! Most importantly, it’s a chance to have a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
I’ve got a new job now, a job I wouldn't have had a look-in with if it hadn't been for the opportunity to volunteer.
“I have a fairly stressful job, and volunteer has helped me to keep a healthy perspective and balance on life.”
