FAQs

General Event Questions

What is included in my entry fee?

Your entry fee includes a fully supported route with clear signage, well-stocked feed stations, first aid cover, mechanical support at HQ, a finisher’s medal, and post-ride refreshments.

Is the route signed, or do I need a map?

The route is fully signed and marshalled, so navigation is simple! We will also provide a GPX file closer to the event for those who prefer to use their own GPS devices.

What kind of bike do I need to participate?

Any roadworthy bike is welcome, including road bikes, hybrid bikes, and mountain bikes. We just ask that your bike is in good working order, so we recommend booking a service before the event to make sure.

Is this a race, and is the event timed?

It is a timed sportive challenge, not a competitive race. Your time will be recorded, but we encourage everyone to set their own pace and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Quantocks and Exmoor.

What is the minimum age for participation?

Participants must be 18 years or older on the day of the event. We may allow riders aged 16–17 if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the ride.

What happens if I have a mechanical issue or a flat tyre?

We will have both static mechanics to assist with any basic mechanical issues. However, you must be self-sufficient and carry your own pump, spare inner tubes and basic tools. If you have a mechanical issue that cannot be repaired on route, one of our team will bring you back to HQ for assistance.

Fundraising Questions

What is the difference between the standard and fundraising entry?

The Fundraising Entry option has a lower upfront cost but requires you to commit to raising a minimum sponsorship target (e.g., £75 for the Discovery Route). The Self-Funded Entry has a higher fee but has no fundraising obligation.

How do the funds I raise help vulnerable young lives?

Every kilometre you cycle directly supports our work, funding essential outdoor adventure activities like Coastal Days or overnight expeditions on our Somerset Resilience Programme, providing young people with the life-changing experience they need to build confidence and resilience.
