Ways to sponsor an adventure

  • For yourself – You could help transform the life of vulnerable young person. From as little as £1.90 a week.
  • For someone else – Adventure sponsorship makes the perfect gift to inspire a loved one to get outdoors.
  • For a school, group or company – Help support the cost of a young person, or get involved in other ways.

Why our young people need your support

We use outdoor adventure as a platform to help young people experience success, achieve more than they thought they could and unlock their potential. The global pandemic has significantly reduced their ability to get outside and many young people have told us that they’ve barely stepped outdoors other than to go to school. We know that our adventure Programme is life changing and COVID has served as a good reminder that without the Youth Adventure Trust, the outdoors remains inaccessible to those we work with. It is more important than ever before that all young people have the opportunity to experience the mental, physical and emotional benefits of getting outdoors and challenge themselves through adventure. Your support will help to shape the future for the next generation. Find out more on Our Work page.

Making a difference to Jade

Jade was struggling at school and faced challenges at home. Her teachers reported that she was often rude and aggressive, would truant class and run away from school, which is why they referred her to the Youth Adventure Trust when she was 12 years old. They felt that the Programme would help Jade to build confidence and self-esteem, teach her to be patient, to make new friends, and try things she would never usually try.

Through the adventure activity days and camps, Jade tackled different challenging situations which helped her to face her fears: she made the decision to confront those fears and try her best to work through and get past them. Jade learnt that the decisions she was making at the time would affect her for the rest of her life. Now at the age of 16, she is looking to pass all of her GCSEs, go to college and be the first in her family to attend university.

I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for the Youth Adventure Trust, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

During your sponsorship you’ll follow one young person’s Youth Adventure journey for 24 months of adventurous activity days and challenging camps. Towards the end of the two-year sponsorship, we’ll send you information about another young person to check that you’re happy for the sponsorship to continue and to follow their journey.

Your sponsorship contributions are used to help the young person whose adventures you are sponsoring and all the young people we are working with.

Young people on the Programme attend 8 activity days and 3 residential camps with ongoing support from their Programme Manager over three school years. Each place on the Youth Adventure Programme is free for the young person, but costs us an average of £3,600.
