Out of the office and into the mountains.

The Youth Adventure Trust is thrilled to present the ninth edition of Hike Bike Paddle- the industry challenge for anyone working in the sports and outdoors sector.

This year, we are bringing it back to Snowdonia for a breathtaking team adventure in the heart of North Wales, based out of the iconic Plas y Brenin (The National Mountain Centre). You’ll tackle three thrilling disciplines:

Hike – Approximately 4 – 5 hours

Bike – Approximately 3 – 4 hours (on and off road)

Paddle – 2km course on a giant stand up paddle board!

Hike Bike Paddle is a fantastic day of teamwork, friendly competition, and industry connection, but not only that- it directly supports our work to help vulnerable young people through outdoor adventure.

Bring your team, take on an unforgettable challenge, and inspire young lives.

  • Teams

We recommend teams of 4-6 participants. You can tackle the full challenge as a complete team or take it on as a relay. Minimum team sizes per discipline apply:

    • Hike: Minimum 4 people

    • Bike: Minimum 2 people

    • Paddle: The more, the merrier!

    Key Information:

    • Navigation & Water Safety: At least two team members must be confident navigating with a map and compass. Basic swimming ability is recommended, although buoyancy aids are provided for everyone on the paddle.

    • Individual Entries: If you enter on your own, we will match you up with a team.

    • Timing & Awards: The event is officially timed, with prizes up for grabs across key categories.

  • Accommodation

Plas y Brenin is surrounded by great accommodation options, including campsites, B&Bs, local hostels and hotels in nearby Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig. Platforms like Booking.com are a great place to start planning your stay. We will send out a recommended accomodation list closer to event day.

  • Entry Fee

This year It costs £650 + VAT for a team of up to 6 people to take part with a £2000 fundraising target; you will be invoiced upon registration.

There is also an option to pay £2000 + VAT per team with no fundraising ask if you’d prefer to take part solely as company funded team building event.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to complete all three disciplines?

No. Teams can either tackle the entire event together or split the route as a relay.

    How competitive is the event?

That is up to you. Some teams aim for the top of the leaderboard, while others focus on enjoying the day and crossing the finish line together. Prizes are awarded across several categories.

Do I need my own bike?

The course features a mix of on-road and off-road terrain, so a gravel bike or a road bike with wider tires is ideal. Bike hire can also be arranged during registration if required at an extra cost.

    Is training necessary?

Completing all three disciplines takes approximately 10 hours, so building up your fitness beforehand is strongly recommended. Route details will be released soon, and our team can provide training guides to help you prepare.

Can I invite or challenge another company to enter?

Absolutely. If you know a business in the outdoor industry that would enjoy the challenge, pass their details onto us and we will reach out to them directly.

What are the next steps to enter?

Register your interest to secure your spot. Once registered, your company will receive an invoice, and we will schedule a virtual information session with your team to run through all the details.
